Kelsey {Mountain View High}
Let me tell you a little bit about how I met Kelsey. Six years ago (!!) I was a P.E. teacher at her middle school. She would come in to the girl’s P.E. office to talk to my co-worker practically every day to vent and receive advice. Something you should know about being a teacher is that you usually become a thereapist whether you want to or not, especially with middle school girls (we secretly love it though). 😂 Over the course of Kelsey’s 7th and 8th grade year, I got to know her and, eventually, joined in on the conversations with my co-worker. Four year later, when I saw her application pop up for my spokesmodel team, I was SO excited! It’s always so fun having a familiar face on my team especially since I hadn’t seen her for several years.
I had the absolute BEST time with Kelsey on her senior session day. We quite literally couldn’t stop talking because we had four years of missed time to catch up on. She is the sweetest, most fun, and bubbly person. It’s hard not to want to be around Kelsey. What I loved most was seeing how much she has grown and matured over the years. Seeing Kelsey’s confidence and emotional growth made the middle school teacher in me so, so proud. I know she is going to do such amazing things in this world and I can’t wait to see where she ends up. Oh, and did I mention she wants to be a middle school teacher now?! ðŸ˜
Kelsey’s senior session just happen to be the weekend before school started and apparently everyone goes to the river the weekend before school starts. We had to dodge a lot of people at her session, but we made the best of it! Not only were there tons of people, but it was wayyy hotter than the forecast had called for. Thankfully, being the sweet angel Kelsey is, she carried on and strutted through downtown in her heels (actually they were my heels haha!!). Even though we were both hot and tired, we mustered up the energy to go to one last spot downtown and they ended being some of our favorite photos!!
One misconception of senior sessions is that it’s all glamourous and easy, but most times, that’s not the case. From the time you get your hair and makeup done until the end of your session, you are totalling about 5 hours. In that time, you are driving and walking to multiple locations, changing outfits, and posing for the camera. On top of that, the weather can be an added factor (extreme heat, humidity, brutally cold, windy, rainy, etc.) Fortunately, I am used to all of these situations and make it part of my job to keep my seniors in high spirits no matter the circumstance. My mindset is: they only get to do this once. So, I always encourage one more location or one more outfit because I don’t want any of my seniors leaving their session with regret.
Take a look at some of my favorite images of Kelsey, she is absolutely stunning!!
The sun peeking through was the cherry on top for these photos!! I love going to the river with my seniors.
