A P.E. teacher by day, wife & dog mom by night. I am a Baltimore girl born and raised (go Ravens!, go O’s!, go Old Bay!), but a southern girl at heart. In other words, you will find both Drake and Tim McGraw in the same playlist on my phone. I spent my college years in the small town of Bridgewater, VA and quickly realized that the state for lovers was for me. After receiving my Master’s in Physical Education, I left my hometown for good (sorry Mom) and started a life in Fredericksburg, Virginia. If you’re not familiar with this area, it is halfway between Richmond & D.C. and also happens to be the section of 95 that has bumper to bumper traffic at all hours of the day and night. Traffic aside, I feel the most at home here. In just three short years I got engaged to my love, adopted dog #1, married my love, experienced a pandemic which led to puppy #2, AND bought a house.
So, you may be wondering, “how the heck did a P.E. teacher become a photographer?” I sometimes wonder the same thing. It all started with mirror selfies on my flip phone in middle school. Then, I upgraded to my bright red digital camera in high school. I think you know what’s coming in college. Yep, my very first DSLR.
It wasn't until about 5 years later that I considered making my passion for photography a real-life dream job. Now, I am spending every free minute educating myself to be the best photographer in the business. My friends would tell you, I am extremely competitive. They’re not wrong. I want to be the best at everything I do and photography is no different. Not only do I strive to provide you with the most gorgeous photos you’ve ever laid your eyes on, I want the entire process to be a fun, easy, and uplifting experience.
Throughout my life I have been a babysitter, a waitress, a swim instructor, a door-to-door salesman, a teacher, and a coach. There’s one thing that all of these have in common: relationships. I take heart in getting to know my clients and continuing a relationship even after everything is said and done. Not only is photography my passion, but people are my passion and I can't wait to work with you!
XOXO,
Peggy
